Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Luang Prabang to homestay village with rural jungle trekking.

Your experienced local guide will meet you at your accommodation, pick up is approx. 8:00AM. From there you will travel approx. 3 hours by private minibus out of Luang Prabang, visit Ban Na Yang is Lao Lue village, to see local Lao Lue traditional handicraft, dyeing clothes, weaving cotton and silk before reach to Ban Houay Kong, There our experienced guide will take you through the local surroundings seeing the traditional farming culture through various rubber, Teak, corn, and rice crops, along the way. Your trek will take you through the luscious jungle valley before stopping for a secluded jungle picnic lunch prepared by your guide. After lunch you will take out of the valley and up the mountain to the local village of Ban Vieng Hin. The approx. journey time is 2.5 hours.
Our tour visits the Hmong tribal village of Ban vieng Hin, for your exclusive local home stay experience. During your stay the local people and you experienced guide will introduce you to the local customs and you can learn about the fascinating Hmong tribal culture. You are invited to enjoy an authentic Laotian meal with the villagers in the evening and will stay in the village in a traditional homestead overnight. A truly unique and unforgettable experience.
Day 2 - Cultural & jungle trekking though Hmong and Khmu tribal villages, with traditional homestay.

The following morning at the home stay, your experienced local guide will prepare your breakfast, and afterwards you will say goodbye to the villagers to begin your second day of trekking toward Ban Pha Yong village, approx. 5 hours hike.Your journey will take you through the dramatic Laos landscape and you can experience its tremendous natural beauty with all the sights and sound of the jungle, stopping for lunch prepared by your guide along the way. You will pass through rural villages and farm along the route and your guide explain the differences between the local Hmong and Khmu tribal cultures, as well as pointing out native plants and wildlife. Upon reaching Ban Pha Yong village for your second unique local homestay you will have the opportunity to learn how to cook some local dishes and can prepare your evening meal.
Day 3 - Nam Ou boat cruise,visit Shopchem village crafts, caves and viewpoints.

In the morning at home stay, you guide will prepare your breakfast, and you will say goodbye to the villagers to head for Nam Ou Riverbank approx. 1 hour. Form there you will board a traditional Nam Ou River ‘slow boat’ to travel along the Ou River to Ban Shopchem. Here you will meet the local people and learn the traditional arts of silk weaving from the skilled local craftspeople.
Our tour then continues on the boat further along the river to the village of Muang Ngoi followed by a hike up the Phou Phanoy Mountain for a sensational view of Muang Ngoi and the surrounding landscape. Heading back down the mountain your guide will take you for lunch at local restaurant with amazing view along the banks of the Nam Ou River.
After lunch you will travel to Nongkhiew to visit the historic Pha Tok cave, former secret hideaway during the 1968 war. If you’re not too tired after Pha Tok you have the option to visit the top of Phou Somnang, its quite a climb but the views from the top are truly breath-taking allow approx. 40 minutes. Alternatively, if you want to conserve your energy for the following day you have the option to check straight into your evening’s accommodation. Staying in a local guesthouse, you can relax and recharge ready for a boat cruise down Ou River to Nam Ou second dam.
Day 4 - Traveling from Nongkhiew by ‘slow boat’ cruise down Nam Ou River to stop at Nam Ou second dam, then minibus pick up back to Luang Prabang city.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your accommodation, departing approx. 9:00AM. From there you will travel approx. 1 hour to Nam Ou second dam. You will enjoy beautiful landscape views both side Ou River banks along the way through to where we will stop at the boat pier at the Nam Ou second dam. After boat cruise the minibus will pick you up from there, then travel approx. 1.3 hours to Luang Prabang World Heritage Site. And we will stop along the way for lunch, after lunch we will drive into city and check in your new accommodation. The tour will finish in Luang Prabang city.
Day 5 - OPTIONAL TRANSFER
Transfer from your hotel to Luang Prabang Airport or Lao - China Railway station. Optional transfer to include travel from Luang Prabang, (vaious destinations available by prior arrangement).
